Legal professional privilege has again proven itself as a hot topic among CLANZ members with a large turnout of members for the CLANZ-Bell Gully privilege workshops this month.
Around 150 members attended lunch time seminars hosted by Bell Gully in Auckland and Wellington.
At the CLANZ conference in Christchurch earlier this year, privilege was clearly identified as a subject on which members were keen to get more knowledge of the latest thinking and some practical advice to apply in their in-house roles.
Bell Gully partner Jenny Cooper, who chaired the panel session on privilege during the conference, led the workshops in Auckland and Wellington with senior associates Tim Clarke and Jenny Stevens in each city respectively.
They provided an overview of privilege and a look at the latest developments and cases in the area, prompting good discussion from members attending.
